Application of PET/CT to adjuvant chemotherapy for early lung adenocarcinoma

چکیده
Results Ninety patients received adjuvant chemotherapy and 84 did not. Patients given adjuvant chemotherapy were older, but had the lower T status tumor than patients who were not (both, p < 0.001). Adjuvant chemotherapy conferred benefits upon recurrence-free interval and overall survival compared with observation (p = 0.007 and p = 0.004, respectively). Multivariate Cox proportional hazard analyses revealed SUVmax as an independent prognostic factor for recurrence-free interval (hazard ratio 8.03, p < 0.001). Recurrence-free interval and overall survival were significantly longer for patients who received adjuvant chemotherapy compared with those who did not in the group with SUVmax ≤ 2.6 (p < 0.001 and p < 0.001, respectively). However, recurrence-free interval and overall survival did not significantly differ between such patients in the group with SUVmax < 2.6 (p = 0.421 and p = 0.452, respectively).

Accuracy and Efficacy of Whole-Body F-FDG PET in Patient with Recurrent Colorectal Cancer: A Case Report
Background: A 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-D-glucose (FDG) is useful for early metabolic response assessment in various malignancies, including Colorectal Cancer (CRC). Herein, we express that Positron Emission Tomography/Computed (PET-CT) with FDG was very useful for early diagnosis, accuracy and additional value of whole-body in recurrent CRC. Case Report: A 50 years old woman was diagnosed with an ...

We diagnosed a non-small cell lung carcinoma in a 49-year-old female patient with the histopathological diagnosis of stage IIIB mixed bronchioloalveolar and papillary adenocarcinoma with extensive micropapillary feature, which was not visualized on the preoperative multimodality imaging with positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT). The micropapillary component characteri...
متن کاملKorean Medicine Therapy as a Substitute for Chemotherapy for Metastatic Breast Cancer: A Case Report
A 46-year-old Korean woman was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer and underwent 8 cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, breast conservation surgery and adjuvant radiotherapy. However, the cancer recurred in the right upper lung (RUL) and the right pulmonary hilum after 8 months. The RUL nodule was removed through a wedge resection, and the pathologic finding was revealed as a metastatic adeno...
متن کاملThe Efficiency of Respiratory-gated 18F-FDG PET/CT in Lung Adenocarcinoma: Amplitude-gating Versus Phase-gating Methods
Objective(s): In positron emission tomography (PET) studies, thoracic movement under free-breathing conditions is a cause of image degradation. Respiratory gating (RG) is commonly used to solve this problem. Two different methods, i.e., phase-gating (PG) and amplitude-gating (AG) PET, are available for respiratory gating. It is important to know the strengths and weaknesses of both methods when...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Possible Utilization of 68Ga-DOTATOC in Diagnosis of Adenocarcinoma Breast Cancer
Objective(s): Studies have indicated advantageous properties of [DOTA-DPhe1 , Tyr3 ] octreotide (DOTATOC) in tumor models and labeling with gallium. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer mortality in women, and most of these cancers are often an adenocarcinoma. Due to the importance of target to non-target ratios in the efficacy of diagnosis, the pharmacokinetic of 68Ga-DOTATOC in...
